THE 'RIGHT TO RIGHTS FOUNDATION' RECENTLY EMBARKED ON A PROJECT IN GH - VISITING 'NSABA DIASPORA SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL' WERE THEY HAD DISCUSSIONS WITH THE GIRLS FINDING OUT WHAT THEIR CHALLENGES WERE WITH REGARDS TO THEIR EDUCATION AND GENERAL WELL-BEING.... RIGHT TO RIGHTS CAME UP WITH SOME INTERESTING CONCLUSIONS AND WANTED TO SHARE THEIR FINDINGS WITH EVERYONE... ANY IDEAS LSG FAMILY...?!?!? LSG ACKNOWLEDGES THE EFFORTS OF 'THE RIGHT TO RIGHTS FOUNDATION'... - Lifestylz GH!

'Right To Rights Foundation was Founded in June 2007 with the main aim of ensuring that the less fortunate in the Ghanaian society are allowed the Right to enjoy their basic Human Rights. Most members of the foundation are youth and Right to Rights Foundation hopes to bring all the Ghanaian youth ( in and outside Ghana) together to improve the situations in our country.

The first 'Right' Right To Rights Foundation is focusing on is "The Right to Education" i.e.

Promoting Girl Child Education
Ensuring all people of school going age are in school
Schools are equipped with the necessary equipment/books etc.
Students have the necessary tools needed to further their education.

On Saturday, July 25th 2009, members and friends of Right To Rights Foundation (President - Catherine Hagan,
Ghana Coordinator - Aku Emi-beth Amable, & Volunteer Coordinator - Anisa Awusima) including members of Manufactured In Ghana (MIG), HB couture and past winner of Ms. Universe Ghana, Yvette Fanci visited the Nsaba Diaspora Senior High School. Here, the friends and members of Right To Rights Foundation were able to talk to the girls of the school in a comfortable setting , finding out the problems they face with their school and education in general and how Right To Rights Foundation could help.

The girls of the school were very brilliant and spoke with perfect grammar and pronunciation, however, they mentioned some of the problems they faced which if solved would make education easier for them. These include:

*Tuition -- it is too high, they are currently paying 180ghc a term --this is very expensive for the kind of families these girls are coming from

*Library needs books, science labs need equipment

* Want to do more stuff with other schools - they stay in school a lot because the school can't afford transportation for them to go out of school

* Want to be included in inter school games i.e. games with other schools

* Wish they had more courses - most of them want to be nurses, but they only have home economics general arts

* Need mentorship

Right To Rights Foundation is in the process of getting the stories of the girls out there and finding ways in which help can be given to these girls. The Foundation is also researching other schools that can be helped.'

LIFESTYLZ GH CHARITY SHOWCASE RECAP.... LITTLE DROPS OF WATER/OMANJOR M.A. BASIC SCHOOL PROJECT (BY EVELYN OWUSU & JEFFREY MANU)!!!!

The Omanjor project is a personal project between Jeffrey Manu and Evelyn Owusu. On the 18th of December, 2008.... they helped feed all 423 kids @ Omanjor M.A. Basic School (which has been showcased on Lifestylz GH previously... check the archives/features). MiG was there to support via Fred Deegbe Jr. who helped with the feeding and dishing out of the clothes plus he brought Mabel Senanu, Ama Kyeremanteng,and Kwadwo Oppong. In light of giving back to the community.... Michael Nimo, Millicent Owusu, and Lois Safo dropped everything to help!!!

On the 21st of January, 2009 they went back to give out more clothes and drinks to the kids at Omanjor M.A. Basic School. The main purpose was to lay measurements for 2classrooms so they took the contractor from PAY N SAVE courtesy of Nana Owiredu Yeboah. Lord willing we'll finish the classrooms by the end of March.
